Leonotis Leonurus A.K.A. Wild Dagga
Wild Dagga is a tall, shrubby South African plant of the Mint Family with deep green foliage that elongates into long strips after flowering. Especially striking for its fiery orange and its feathery flower tufts that bloom in spikes or balls. Leonotis Leonurus contains Marrubin and is commonly called "Lion's Tail" because of its feathery gladiolus-like spiked flowers. The plant has had a long entheogenic and therapeutic tradition among the Hottentot tribesmen of South Africa. The tea can induce a deep meditative trance and is a strong relaxant.
Wild Dagga promotes euphoria and exuberance when smoked. It is used in South Africa as an inebriant /marijuana substitute, which has caused the plant to earn its reputation as a legal form of Wild "Dagga" or Cannabis. It is reported that smoking this plant produces marijuana-like effects, only milder.
Use at your own risk! Caution: This plant is rumored to be mildly addictive.
